mhbkonlogo12th December, 2014 – Johor - EcoKnights, in partnership with MHB and their “MHB Cares” program, hosted a Knights of Nature Sustainability camp on 10th and 11th December at their facilities in Pasir Gudang, Johor. Exclusive to youth residing or studying in Johor and MHB employee family members, the program aimed to educate participants on volunteerism and local Orang Asal communities, specifically those in Johor.

The program began Wednesday morning with icebreaking activities followed by several sessions on Orang Asal communities and volunteerism. The goal was to train and prepare the participants for the events on Thursday, when they engaged with local Orang AsalSeletar in various activities such as health and dental check-ups, performances from the local youth, and a beach clean-up.

In an effort to build forward momentum in volunteerism efforts, the participants  also developed plans for activities they can practice in their own communities. Their project ideas were displayed on Thursday, 10th December and shared with guests of honour.

Overall, the program was well received by participants, MHB, and the local Orang Asal Seletar community. EcoKnights will continue to work with the participants to ensure their ideas for environmental initiatives come to fruition and hopes to collaborate with MHB and their MHB Cares program in the future. EcoKnights is proud to have conducted a program that successfully united local shareholders to achieve a common goal and looks forward to many more of these opportunities in the future.
